22 Pieces, Kyoto
It is the discoveries you make along the way that make traveling so enjoyable.
Our stay in 22 Pieces, Kyoto was one of those discoveries. Located a 5-minute walk south of Kyoto Train station, it is tucked into suburbia to the point of feeling hidden. Upon arrival the first thing you notice is a giant map of the city with the most popular tourist locations marked on it. This is so genius & of enormous benefit to visitors eager to see as much as possible. The staff are wonderfully friendly & all spoke perfect English. The room is spacious & contained 3 futon style beds on a raised platform as well as a kitchenette, living space & a large luxe bathroom complete with beautiful toiletries. The train station is close with many food options within, there is a 7-11 just down the street & a coin operated laundromat around the corner. We hired their bikes for a day & found it to be one of the safest places to ride & the most wonderful way to explore the city. Kyoto is a must see in Japan & 22 Pieces a perfect base to do so.
