ITINERARY

DAY 1. Arrive into Auckland

Kia Ora! Welcome to the City of Sails. Rated as the third most liveable city in the world, Auckland is an exhilarating mix of natural wonders and urban adventures. Imagine an urban environment where everyone lives within half an hour of beautiful beaches, hiking trails and a dozen enchanting holiday islands. Add a sunny climate, a background rhythm of Polynesian culture and a passion for outstanding food, wine and shopping, and you’re beginning to get the picture of Auckland, New Zealand's largest and most diverse city.

DAY 2. Explore Auckland

Spend the day getting to know the vibrant ‘City of Sails’ with a huge range of activities and attractions on your doorstep. Head down to the harbour & enjoy a 12 minute ferry ride across to Devonport where you will find picturesque Victorian villas, stylish shops, beaches & stunning views back to the city itself. The Sky Tower offers 360-degree views of New Zealand’s biggest city or those who like to keep their feet firmly on the ground may prefer a trip to the Auckland Museum or Auckland War Memorial which sits imposingly on a knoll in the Auckland Domain. The afternoon is a perfect time to visit some of the city's volcanic cones; kayak the harbour; enjoy a bike ride or climb Mount Eden to see the city at sunset. End the day with dinner at one of Auckland's dining precincts, Wynyard Quarter, the Viaduct or Britomart.

DAY 3. Wilderness Experience Half Day Tour

The Wilderness Experience nature tour is a great introduction to New Zealand nature and visits some stunning scenery of rainforest and Piha’s black sand surf beach. Easy walking tracks and dramatic coastlines are only a short drive from Auckland city centre and the experienced guides and small group size means you will be well looked after. See and find out about the famous New Zealand silver fern, manuka and kauri trees as your guide talks about what makes New Zealand so unique. Then experience the power of the rugged west coast when we stop at a stunning viewpoint overlooking Piha beach and the Tasman Sea before going down to the black sand beach. There you get the chance to stroll along one of the most awe-inspiring beaches the world has to offer and watch the surf waves rolling in.

During the afternoon we also include a New Zealand style afternoon tea including biscuits, manuka honey and tea and coffee or juice.

DAY 4. Waiheke Island Food & Wine Full Day Tour

Taste the best of Waiheke Island in one day on this popular best-value tour. You’ll visit some of the island’s most iconic destinations, including three wineries and an olive grove. Included is the return ferry ride from Auckland as well as all coach transfers on Waiheke Island. Your local tour driver will meet the ferry at Matiatia Wharf, sharing the island's unique story on the scenic drive. Sample wines as you enjoy a light lunch at Stonyridge Vineyard before more tastings at Casita Miro & Mudbrick Vinyard. At Rangihoua Estate you'll sample a range of premium, internationally-awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil surrounded by olive groves and native New Zealand Forest. Rangihoua also hosts The Hay Paddock Cellar Door.

BONUS All Day Local Bus Pass - if you have more time to spend on the island, enjoy a complimentary bus pass so you can explore on your own after the conclusion of the tour.
